Measure airway obstruction
easily, accurately, and cost-effectively. Peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR)
provides an objective clinically relevant measurement of airflow-at a fraction
of the cost , bulk, and inconvenience of conventional spirometry. And when
seconds count, you can count on ASSESS to deliver those measurements with
superior accuracy and reproducibility. Everything about ASSESS from its
easy-to-use design, to its easy-to-read scale, to its transparent construction
that encourages regular cleaning, to its virtually indestructible polycarbonate
body-is designed to make it work better and last longer.
Assess® is a leading peak flow meter in U.S.
hospitals because of its accuracy and durability. It is available in Full
(60-880 L/min) and Low (30-390 L/min) ranges.
- Design-shaped
design facilitates patient training and encourages correct posture for
monitoring.
- Construction-Sturdy,
durable, clear impact resistant construction promotes ongoing cleaning and
maintenance.
- Zone Clips-Flexible
zone clips provide a three- or four-zone asthma management system.
- Mouthpiece-Safety
mouthpieces reduce the risk of cross-contamination during multi-patient
screening, and the one-way valve prevents patients from inadvertently
breathing in air through their meters during peak expiratory flow rate
testing.
Cleaning the Instrument-It
is not necessary to clean your personal meter after each use. Once each week
should be enough. Cleaning is simple and is important to maintain the accuracy
of Assess®.
-
The removable white mouthpiece
can be cleaned by rinsing with warm water and thoroughly drying.
-
The whole instrument can also
be cleaned by rinsing with warm water and a mild liquid soap. Then, rinse the
meter with clean warm water. Shake out the water and let the instrument air
dry before use.
-
Assess® can be
safely cleaned on the top rack only of your dishwasher. After dishwashing,
shake out any remaining water and allow to air dry thoroughly before use.
-
Never boil the instrument.
